Lora Marinova is a descendant of a Russian aristocratic family. She graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Since 1991, two aristocratic families in Northern Italy and Germany have been commissioning Lora Marinova's art for their family castles. Each of these private collections include over 30 of Lora Marinova's paintings joining the works of Dourer, Velazquez, Rembrandt, and Goya.
